From Our Patients

I had a root canal this morning. Mine was a particularly difficult case as I had very long roots, calcification and an infection. Dr. Shen did a great job and carefully explained everything. The front office was very friendly and efficient.

What to Expect When Getting Dentures

Consultation and Treatment Plan

After scheduling an appointment, Dr. Goel or Dr. Shad will call you in for the first consultation. This consultation involves a comprehensive examination of your teeth and oral cavity, including the health of your teeth and gums, to determine the suitability of dentures for your dental condition. If they recommend dentures, they’ll create a treatment plan for you.

Taking Impressions

Next, Dr. Goel or Dr. Shad will take impressions of your gums and the teeth surrounding the gap. They’ll later send the impressions to an outside laboratory responsible for manufacturing the dentures.

Denture Fabrication and Fitting

Denture fabrication takes about two to three weeks to create. Once the dentures are ready, Dr. Goel or Dr. Shad will call you in to fit them on your teeth. This process involves aligning the dentures in the missing tooth gap and snapping it in place. They’ll adjust the dentures to ensure they fit comfortably and function as they should.

Post-Treatment Instructions and Follow-Up Appointments

If everything checks out, Dr. Goel or Dr. Shad will guide you on caring for your dentures and getting the most out of them. They’ll instruct you on how to clean your dentures, what to eat, and how to address any discomfort. They might also schedule follow-up appointments to ensure the success of your dentures.
